Carnaval, dat hoort er vanaf nu ook bij!

Vorige week kregen we dit mailtje in onze mailbox. Jeej, ons kindje mag verkleed naar de crèche gaan! 

Juist ja.

Dat waren we helemaal vergeten dat carnaval er vanaf nu ook bij hoort. Niet dat ik iets tegen carnaval heb, maar dan moet je dus verkleedkleren hebben. Of maken. En inspiratie.

Dus hierbij een last minute carnavalskostuum voor een 1-jarige: 

• duik je kleerkast in (of de Zeeman, in ons geval) en zoek een rood t-shirtje en een zwarte broek
• duik je stoffenmand in en zoek restjes zwarte stof (liefst tricot)
• knip een smalle strook die breder gaat naar onderen uit de zwarte stof (de hoogte van het t-shirtje)
• knip enkele stippen uit de zwarte stof
• naai alles op de achterkant van het rode t-shirtje

In ons geval was er ook bedrukking op de voorkant van het t-shirtje, dus naaide ik nog een "buikschild" op de voorkant.

En als je veel tijd hebt, kan je ook nog een zwarte kap maken, dan is het lieveheersbeestje helemaal af ;-)

(die tijd had/nam ik niet, dus gebruikte ik zijn wintermuts als kapje. En ik nam dan wel de tijd om de foto's te photoshoppen zodat het een zwarte muts werd, dat moet ik dan wel toegeven!)

Las week we got an email from the child day care: our child was welcome with a carnaval costume on friday! Hooray!

Right. We forgot about that. Carnaval & costumes is part of parenting. Not that I have anything againts carnaval, you just need to have a costume. Or make one. And you need the inspiration.

So here's a last-minute costume for a 1 year old:

• dive into your closet (or a store, in our case) and find a red t-shirt and black trousers
• dive into your basket with fabric (leftovers) and find a black piece of fabric (preferably tricot)
• cut out a narrow strip, that goes out wider to the bottom (the strip needs to be the height of the shirt)
• cut out some dots out of the black fabric
• sew everything on the back of the shirt

In our case, we had lettering on the front of the shirt, so I cut out an ellips and put it on the front of the shirt.

And if you have enough time, you can make a black hood, so the ladybug is completely finished. 

I didn't have/take that time, so I pulled out his winter hood instead. And I did take the time to photoshop the pictures so that it became a black hood, I have to admit that!
